Reconstruction and completion of access roads, pavements in the archaeological park Mikulčice - Kopčany on the Slovak side to the footbridge over the Morava River

It is in this area, north to northwest of the village of Kopčany, that the construction project was located, which involved the reconstruction and completion of access roads and footpaths in the Mikulčice
– Kopčany Archaeological Park on the Slovak side of the footbridge over the Morava River and the construction of a footbridge over the Tvrdonický Canal. The construction consists of four parts. The first leads from the embankment by the Morava River near the Kopčany landing stage to the footbridge over the Tvrdonický Canal, has a paved surface and serves as a bicycle and pedestrian path. The part called Veľkomoravská cesta leads from the footbridge over the Tvrdonický Canal to the end of the section.
The road has an unpaved surface and is used exclusively by pedestrians. The section called Baroková cesta leads from Kačenárna to Veľkomoravská cesta, where it connects to another section. The road is multipurpose
with an unpaved surface and is used by pedestrians, cyclists, and for transport services in the adjacent area.

The structure includes a viewing platform in the form of a ground-level footbridge, including an access walkway and a rest and information area. It connects the cycle path leading from the Morava River embankment to the Kopčany Archeopark site. At the same time, it serves to regulate visitor access to the border of the Archeopark site and to connect the access roads, the cycle path leading from the Morava River embankment with the footpath leading
probably along the route of the former "Great Moravian Road" in the Kopčany Archeopark.
The contractor addressed the requirement to apply a colored finish to the asphalt mixtures on the construction site by applying a wearing course to the cycle path using BITUCLAIR material with a synthetic transparent binder and natural aggregate of a selected color. This pigment-free solution ensures the permanent color of the cycle paths and emphasizes the connection between the construction elements and nature and the original character of the landscape. These types of mixtures are currently used mainly for
urban solutions for pedestrian zones, parks, the surroundings of historical buildings, and cycle paths.
The construction is part of an international project connecting two extremely important cultural and archaeological sites, the Mikulčice-Kopčany Archaeological Park. Given that the area is extremely important from a cultural and historical point of view, as well as in terms of natural heritage protection, the construction fully respects the needs of the region and the protection of its significant cultural heritage.
